Gareth was currentely rushin around his flat. It was getting on for quarter to seven and he was picking Karnie up at seven. His shirt wasn't ironed, his hair was a fluffy mop, he couldn't find one of his shoes, in short...he was panicking.
Dammit!
He shouted out as he almost knocked the bunch of roses off the table where they were lying next to his wallet.

Karnie walked towards Gareth's flat. She had got directions there scribbled down on a piece of notepaper. Karnie wasslightly nervous, she didn't want to mess up her and Gareth's first date together. KNowing she was early, Karnie paced up and down the road where Gareth's block of apartments was.
At ten to seven, she couldn't wait any longer and ended up knocking on Gareths door at seven minutes to seven.
She stood at the door and wondered if arriving early was bad. She had spent about two hours getting ready, cleaning up her flat (just in case), picking clothing, showering, fixing hair and all the millions of things one must do before a date... that and worrying about all the various things taht could go wrong... or right or- KArnie sighed at herself and fixed her expression into a bright smile. Preparing her "Sorry, I'm early" speech in her head, she waited. listening to the muffled thumps of Gareth getting to the door.

Gareth tripped over several items in his haste to get to the door, including his missing shoe. He wondered who would be knocking on the door at this time, he hardly knew anyone really and the team probably knew by now, thanks to Gwen. He opened the door, still shirtless.
Karnie!
He stammered as his date stood in his doorway, he vaguely gestured for her to come in.

"I am so sorry I'm early," Karnie began, and then realised Gareth was shirtless, she grinned and added, "nice," in an appreciative manner. Gareth's flat was simple and homely, It's bay views gave it a kind of inviting feel, as if the flat itself were saying 'Do come in, have a seat'.
There was a slightly awkward moment in which Karnie and Gareth faced each other, both half in and half out of the flat. Before Karnessa was ushered inside.
She stood, feeling guilty, just inside of the main area of the flat. She felt bad for arriving early, and slightly embarrased to have disturned Gareth as he got ready.
"So," she asked, "Are you alright? I, er, brought a bottle of wine.. for you." she finished, holding out the bottle of red wine. Inwardly smiling as she remembered the odd looks she had got as she paced the road outside wielding a bottle.

Gareth took the bottle of red wine from Karnie, smiling softly. It took a while for Karnie's comment to sink in and he realised that he was shirtless. He hurriedly put the bottle in the kitchen and ran into the bedroom, grabbing his shirt and putting it on.
I'd say should we have a glass, but it's nearly seven and we're gonna miss the film. I erm...didn't know what to book tickets for so I got ones for Alvin and the Chipmunks...I hope that's ok, if not we can find something else I don't mind...
He blabbered on unsure what to say and instead ended up wasting more time.

Karnie grinned, "It's fine Gareth," she said and then they ended up gaxing at each other and smiling before Karnie realised the time and said "Go on then," and chuckled, chivvying him on to get ready to go, hoping he knew he only had one shoe on.

Gareth all but jumped as he rushed to continue getting ready. He buttoned up his shirt, put on his other shoe then looked in the mirror at his reflection. His hair still stuck up awkwardly and he couldn't think what to do. He uickly ran his hands trough it a couple of times before shrugging and holding out an arm to Karnie, jacket in hand.

Karnie nodded, "Yes please," and took Gareth's arm. THey did a complicated shuffle to get out of the narrower-than-two-person doorway and made their way to the road outside. "WOw, what a lovely view you get here," commented Karnie. THe early summer sun was begginnning to set and the bay sparkled with reflected light.
"How are you anyway?" Karnie also asked.

Gareth nodded to Karnie, smiling nervously as they walked along the road in the direction of the cinema. It wasn't far to go from Gareth's flat, about a 3 minute walk or so.
Mmmhmmm, I love the view here and I'm fine, great actually. How about you?
As they walked, Gareth hardly took his eyes of Karnie, justin case this was all some kind of dream.

As Karnie walked she felt Gareths eyes on her, and didn't mind. She pulled him a little closer so they were walkingin step with and arm about each others waists. For some reason, Karnie felt different about Gareth than any of her other boyfriends. She had lost a lot of trust in men after her last one, who cheated on her... seven time in total before announcing it in front Of Karnie's firends. Karnie almost scowled at the memory.
But with Gareth, she felt instantly that she could trust him. And as far as Karnie knew, he was a great person. Karnie smiled at him again and hugged him sideways while they walked., before returning to just walking, and hugging and walking are hard to do at the same time.

Gareth felt Karnie pull him closer and his arm slipped around her waist. Soon they arrived at the cinema and Gareth sighed softly.
Here we are...
He hadn't wanted their walk to end but unfortunatly it did. He led them up to the entrance and into the foyer. Producing the tickets he showed the woman before going to buy popsorn and drinks.
Any preference?

Gareth shook his head in protest but seeing the look Karnie gave him he simply muttered.
Coke and sweet popcorn...
He muttered something else but it was under his breath.

Karnie brought Two cokes, and some sweet popcorn from the vendor and went back to Gareth. "What's up? you look troubled." she said, handing him the coke. He looked slightly peeved that Karnie brought the cinema-food, but Karnie asked him anyway, in case there was something else worrying him.

Gareth took one of the cokes and the popcorn. He would've carried it all but it was humanly impossible. He sighed softly.
It's nothing it's just...I've brought you on this date...
They made it to the screen and he stepped inside. Looking at the almost emptry screen he shrugged.

I honestly don't mind, said KArnie and grinned at Gareth. He seemed rather nervous, as if Karnie was about to bite him. She couldn't work out how to show him she was a nice person really.

He gave up, his mouth didn't seem to want to finction properly. He sighed, looking defeated.

Karnie sighed and grinned at him. "Come on," she said, and took his hand, leading him to some seats at the middle of the 3rd last row.

Gareth stumbled after karnie as she pulled him towards the 3rd to last row. There was no-one sat behind them and it wasn't long before the adverts coming before the film started. Gareth flashed Karnie a shy smile as the sat there in silence.
