Appearance:
Karnie had layered deep brown/black hair and dark eyes. She is slim and of average height.
Personality:
Karnessa is a friendly person who is very kind and caring once you get to know her. She can be shy at times though, and also stubborn. When you first meet her, she will seem quiet and calm, but to her friends she is hyper and a little crazy most of the time. Despite her relatively low qualified job, she is a bright girl and will make a loyal friend to anyone. She is bisexual but not dating anyone at the moment; after a messy break up from her previous girlfriend is more trusting of men than women. I should also note, she tends to be a little bit of a klutz. =]
Past:
Karnessa’s mother was an original ‘flower power’ hippy, who took a little - no, a lot - too much of something at a party when Karnessa was 14, While her mother was recovering from the overdose in hospital, they found an anurism in her brain scan. She died of this a couple of months later. Her father is still alive and relatively normal, living in North London and working in an office. Karnie hasn’t spoken to him in a while, because of the distance between them. As a child, Karnie was considered a weirdo by her schoolmates for both being a ‘freak’ and having a freak for a mother. She was always confused as to what she would do with herself being interested in the arts, sciences and writing. She has been working in shop part time and writing articles for the newspapers on the side for the past year and a half and is sick of it already. She longs to travel and discover new things. Strangely, she firmly believes in the existence of other races and planets. She is living in a medium sized modern flat in a block in the centre of Cardiff, near to the hub.

The weak morning sun was beginning to peep through the half open blinds. It fell upon the sleeping figure, curled up amongst white linen sheets. A black alarm sounded from the bedside table. Eyes still closed, an arm snaked out from the warmth of the bed and sought out the snooze button. The incessant bleeping stopped finally and the figure moaned, sitting up and rubbing her head.
Karnessa slid out of the bed and shuffled over towards the mirrored wardrobe. She pulled out a pair of dark blue jeans and a black skinny-fit t-shirt. Still in zombie-mode she sloped over to the bathroom and showered, changing into her jeans afterwards. She shuffled through to the kitchen and made a cup of tea, brishing her dark hair as she packed for work. She had an interview for a job with the South Wales Echo followed by an interview for a course at the University of Cardiff. She yawned and jumped as the phone rang, she picked it up.
“Hello?” she asked, swallowing her gulp of tea hurriedly.
“hi, this is Phil” came a male voice, it sounded slightly panicked, “look, Sandra can’t come in today, and everyone I know is busy, can you come do an extra shift this morning?”
“No, sorry Phil, I have an interview at 11,” replied Karnie, stirring her tea and putting some bread in the toaster.
“We’ll pay you double, come on Karnie, we really need you. You can fit in a shift before 11! Please!” the voice was pleading now, begging her to waste her morning at the stupid shop.
“No Phil I can’t-“
“And what with all the staff not coming in, I shall have to think about relieving some of you,” said Phil, mocking innocence. Karnie sighed heavily.
“Fine, I’ll come in.”
She hung up on him and crammed the last of her toast, fetching her baggy works polo shirt from her cupboard and slipping it on over her black top. Karnessa picked up her long black coat, locked the door, and hurried down the tightly winding stairs and out into the city centre.
Ooc: this is going to turn into my first post, like... my introduction to the site. I would then post myself in and somehow end up in the torchwood team...hopefully. XD
