ooc: hey there world of Torchwood. I noticed that Karnie has been accepted as a member of torchwood, but they never like, gave her a gun and told her she was 'in'. I thought I would start this thread, and she could get her gun and her own desk from.. someone... and.. stuff..
At the moment she is just filing, but if jack or Gwen or someone could come see her that would be cool. THis is set in the past a little bit, just after the beginnings of the ghost plot. People have started seeing ghosts but Kimhari etc. arent' around yet.
Karnessa areched her back and streched. She had been crouched on the floor for some time, archiving a few case files that weeren't needed any more. Filing seemed to be the only thing she could do in Torchwood. But at least it was something to do. Karnie didn't really know why she stuck around - she wasn't even officially working here! she was living off her savings and the occasional shop shift and working for free at an alien-hunting institutuion.
What would her mother say if she could see Karnie now? Karnie felt a spasm of pain run up her cramping legs ans she pushed the thoughts of her mother out of her mind. Painfully, Karnie stood and pushed the drawer shut with her foot, hoppping a little as she tried to get the feeling back into her other leg. Sitting on the cold, hard archive room floor was no good for her. No wonder the rest of the team weren;t that keen on this job. Except perhaps Ianto... he loved it here.

Ianto heard the noise from hub of one of his files closing so he followed the sound to the archives and saw Karnie standing their and to ianto she looked a bit clue less.Ianto walked out of the shadows and spoke.
What are you looking for? Why are you even down here? You shouldnt be down here?
Ianto walked towards the girl and then at the files that she had been looking through, ianto lowerd himself to the draw and saw in big letters TRAINING FOR NEW MEMBERS, Ianto let out a little laugh.
So you want to be a member of torchwood then youve come to the right place.
Ianto understood what Karnie was thinking he had been in the same situation when he had wanted to join torchwood he tried everything and never gave up and something told Ianto that Karnie might be the same so he intented to help her.
Well maybe i could help you get in if you really want to be in.

I'm not looking for anything, I'm only down here becuase it's the only job I can do around here. Filing or clearning up... thats all the rest of the team trust me with. said Karnie dejectedly. She nodded at the drawer nxt to the one she had been using. I know I shouldn't have, but i read all the training files... erm.. Karnie felt a little foolish, she was so overly keen to be accepted.
She had tried to talk to jack on a couple of occasions, but he seemed to just lok right through her. She hadn't managed to speack to the man properly yet, let alone ask to join the team.
I really would like to join Torchwood. I know it's all dangerous but I think I can do the job. She loked as confidently as she could at Ianto, hoping he would not bother to consut Jack and just let her join the team.

Ok, you want to join the team? Well then, you are going to have to work for it - trust me jack takes a lot of convincing sometimes.
Ianto walked to a file cabinet and opened in a couple of minutes he brought out a massive folder and walked over to karnie and handed it to her but as he did he felt a bit wrong for doing so as this folder was alien and whatever you read you could remember but if karnie really wanted to join then this will be the quickest way but ianto felt like he was betraying jack because he told them never use it unless you are told that you can.
Sorry jack he muttered

What's this? asked Karnie, interested. It looked similar to the other files except for one thing - there was a strip of blue lights down one side and instead of cardboard, it seemed to be made of some kind of metal.
Karnie expected it to be heavy but when she was given it it was light as a feather.
((oooh, plot idea. How about it makes Karnie go loopy!?))

Its an alien device that lets you remember anything that you put on it.
Ianto smiled at her and turned around to grab some papers that were laying on top of the cabinet.
Right lets test it out on these
Ianto placed some of the papers onto the alien device and told karnie to focus on the page.
Now there may be some side effects but nothing a cup of coffee can cure.

Karnie took the device and opened it slowly. The light from the screen lit up her face and a strange cold breeze made her hair fly out to the side a little.
Karnies eyes becme unfocused as she stared, mesmerized at the screen. The strange breeze began to spin around her, it was freezing cold. Karnie opened her mouth to scream but her hair was blon into her mouth. Her head was on fire with the freezing ice wind, it ruched in her ears and seemed to penetrate deep into her head.
Ahhh! she cried as the ddevice slammed shut, its process complete. Karnie slumped to the floor in a heap, unmoving and not breathing.

Karnie yelled Ianto rudhing to her side Are you ok?
Ianto looked round the room for something anything that could wake Karnie up but there was nothing there.
Shit jack was right i should of never used this
Ianto turned and then thought that maybe their was someone that could help him or maybe some information on this device.
I will be right back just please dont die.
