Alex grabbed the fire extinguisher. It took her a minute or two to work out how to use it, by which time the dark haired girl had already sprayed the shadows in foam. Seeing the other shadow rise out of the foam, she aimed her hose at it, pressing the trigger, releasing a rush of carbon dioxide. The shadow started to disintegrate like dust, blowing back a short distance in front of the nozzle. Behind her she saw the two boys rushing through the door, calling to the others to follow.Go through! She shouted. I'll hold them off for a bit, then I'll follow! She resolutely carried on blowing the shadow, keeping it away from the door.

Gwen was torn. Run down into the Hub, or stay and help Alex. She shouted to Alex, trying to get her to follow.
Come on Alex! Get down into the Hub Now!
Gwen sprinted down into the Hub, checking to see if Alex was following her. When she got to Owen and Kimahri she looked at the both of them then spoke.
Fist, someone get on the computer and try to find out what the hell those things are and someone else find some way to stop them.

The shadow sat resolutely stuck to Karnie's feet. She decided not to make a scene, despite her impending doom. Instead she mused about all the things she hadn;t done with her life, and tried to work out how a shoadow could kill someone anyway. Standing silent in the corner, she remained unnotcied by most of the others. 'perhaps the shadow will get bored or something,' she thought hopefully.

Owen Stood still as everyone moved out, but Alex, who was being the brave hero... stupid, he thought he didn't say anything. And Karnie. He looked throught and say that she had two shadows. He did not know what to do at the moment. He looked at Alex, "Go down with the others! Tell them Vata Nada...."[/b] He siad trying to remember what the thing he had read about was called. That was all a could come up with, and he hoped that it was right, or close to right. "Give me the fire extinguisher... I have to save Karnie..." he looked through the fire and shadows at the little girl in the corner. Great now he was trying to be a hero..... Just great. But then he had a secret, that he hadn't told Karnie yet, it had been hard enough telling her lover, but he was dead and maybe that might help his odds, he kind of doubted it, but then when he was asked why he did it it would go smoother.[/color][/size]

ooc: make a new thread in the hub for the rest of the group escaping the vashta nerada.
Karnie realised the others were leaving, and wished she had made more of a fuss. Hd they forgotten her? Then she heard Owen's voice: I have to save Karnie...
It sounded a little dramatic, but Karnie knew the gravity of her situation.
She saw Owen come up the stairs and enter the room.
Hi she whispered, trying not to move her mouth too much They're stuck on me, the vashta nerada.
Karnie only knew anything about these creatures from her supersticious mother's stories. That and reading snippets of unsolved cases in the torchwood vaults.

She thrust the fire extinguisher into this other blokes hands. Take it! She had had enough of tis now, she had to get out. Everyone else was calling her, and a feeling she had told her she needed to follow. Reaching the door she took one glance back, seeing if the last two out there were OK still. Reasoning with herself, none of them were ok at the moment, she turned back and dashed through the door again.

Owen grabbed the fire extinguisher from The blood chick, having it almost hit his head hard, but it didn't. Then he moved into the burning building avoiding the shadows that flickered around. "Vashta Nerada! Of course!" he said sharply as heard what Karnie said. He felt stupid that he had said vata nada, but then that was close, maybe that would figure out what he really was thinking of. It didn't matter now though, all that matter was trying to save Karnie.
Once he was in front of Karnie he held the fire extinuisher up to the shadow with the Vashta Nerada in it. He knew it was that one because there was no way the shadow could have been made from the light. He spread the foam on the thing and watched as he could see the things. But it wasn't working, She still had two shadows. "I think I know what I have to do...." He said and looked at Karnie, he hoped that it would work. "I think I have to spray you with it, and then they will loss intrest. They might not like it?" He said not sure if Karnie was up to it. Being covered with foam.

KArnie sighed a little, thinking about her Jeans. They were her favoutite pair, with little embroidered pattersn on the pockets, so small you had to know they were there to notice them and-
'WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT?' she thought to herself, and realised she was thinking more about damaging her jeans than the fact that very, very soon she could be dead.
She smiled a little, praying Owen's plan would work. Foam or certain death? I think I'll go foam.

Owen smiled. It was a kind smile, one he might give to Tosh, or some one he really liked. He knew what she was going through was hard, he had been there. In the face of death. In one case he had really died.... and was still "dead". He didn't let those thought into him mind as he might another time. This was serious ((ooc: Why can't I figure out how to spell that! Is it right?)) if he didn't do something she could die. Then there was the little thing that was in his mind as he stood in the burning building with Vashta Nerada all around. What if after lossing one of it's "meals" it went for the next meat in the room, that was him.... But then if it worked then he knew how to stop them and would be able to save himself.... hopefully.
He nodded and pointed the thing towards Karnie. "I thought you would say that." he said and started to spray her with foam. He hoped that this would work. Starting at her feet he moved up ward going over her stomach to her chest and then her neck. This was going to be the hard part, so he thought. Owen was pretty sure that it wouldn't work unless every part of her was covered, including her face. "Ready?" He asked and slowly started to moved over her face, making sure that the back was covered before blocking her way of breathing. This better then kill her!
