Gareth had almost managed to get the door shut and the car pulled out when Owen flung open the door. Gareth grabbed the door and fought to shut it, he didn't want...no, he couldn't have anyone with him on this trip. He needed to go to the well, alone. He gave a slight growl deep in his throat again.
Owen I told you I need to do this...
He paused as a thought came into his head, but Karnie couldn't come, he wouldn't allow her to see him like that. So he shook his head.
Owen, you can come with me but...let me actually go there myself...let me approach it alone, in my own time. You'll just be there just in case anything happens but...
He gave a sideways glance to Karnie. He didn't want to leave her out but nor did he want her to see what that place had done to him. Leaning over, Gareth unlocked both the passenger and back door. Owen may as well have company.

Karnie looked sympathetically at Owen as he told her about Katie. But respected his change of subject and took the conversation as closed. She nodded at him in what she hoped was a 'thank you' way. When Owen got up, Karnie followedand listened to him lecture Gareth, but somethething in Owen's voice had changed and he seemed to just be messing with Gareth.
"Go with him and make sure he stays alive"
She was being given something to do! at last! Had it been the right time or place.. or context, Karnie would have jumped for joy. But she just looked at Gareth, sitting in the car, face set in grim determination.
You will let me come won;t you? she asked him, knowing he was pretty edgy right now.
And what about you Owen? you coming? Karnie added to the doctor$, perhaps some time out of the Hub would do him good. And the journey might calm him enough for Karnie to find out more about him.

Owen watched Gareth, ready for him to turn down anyone coming with him, at that point he would have just let him go and then got his own car to follow. He would have let karnie go with him, it was the least that he could do for her. But then Gareth seemed to realize that what he was saying was right. he nodded agreeing with terms he was calling. All he wanted to do what make sure that Gareth didn't get himself killed anyway, even though he was really interested in what Gareth was going to see and do. He let go the front door and let gareth pull shut. "Get in, Karnie." Owen said answering her question. he opened the back door for her then moved to the other side of the car and got into the passenger seat.

Gareth barely waited for the two of them to climb into the car before reversing and then speeding off through Cardiff. His mouth was set as he drove and he uttered not a sound. As they drove further away from the Hub and closer to the countryside area, Gareth tightened his grip on the steering wheel, knuckles going white with the effort.

Owen grabbed the handle next to him seat as the car started off a little to quickly. he looked at Gareth then in the back seat to karnie. he take this little win as a big thing. The two men did not like each other but then they had started to get a long at least a little and each had seen a different side of the other in the last few minutes, and maybe that would change something about the relationship they had. Then there was Karnie who Owen just show that he could be nice and that he wanted to help her. As the car speed on into the sim light of first dawn Owen said nothing, not wanting to break the silence.
((ooc: No we shouldn't get another thread. I mean we are in "The City" so there really is no need, unless we are going outside the city.... didn't really think of that....))

ooc:Oh, ok That makes sense. So who is going to make the new thread?
Also let us not forget that this is a torchwood 2 and 3 plot, so we are still going to need to connect the two stories, so we can't solve it over here, but we can figure some stuff out and what not. Torchwood 2 is going to be called Jack about all this soon, they have someone over there that he wants!.... and his seeing ghosts too......

((ooc: Ok... well why don't we have Karnie see a ghost, or maybe all at once they could see a ghost and then they decided to go back.... or even better they are about to the Well I believe it is that Gareth wants to go to, and they all start seeing Ghosts, maybe Owen sees Tosh dieing or something like that, and the others see something, so they race back to the hub, with out really going through what Gareth was thinking... its just an idea, though.))
